First Nations

First Nations culture, communities and governance in the region are diverse. With 30 bands, numerous urban and rural reserves, and a complex organizational network, the FVRD takes a proactive approach to First Nation relations.

Also, approximately 25 additional First Nations have varying degrees of interest in the region, from as far west as Vancouver Island and as far north as Lillooet.

The FVRD First Nation Relations program is founded on a vision shaped by core values.
