Island 22 Regional Park
Island 22 Regional Park is a 132 hectare park in Chilliwack featuring equestrian and boat launch facilities, as well as walking trails, an off-leash dog park and a bike skills park. An incredible number of migratory birds move through the park in the late summer. Many bald eagles perch in the park's trees during the winter months. Sometimes, you can spot a harbour seal swimming in the river and if you’re very lucky, a white sturgeon jump.
Equestrian facilities include jumps, riding ring, trails and corrals. Several equestrian events take place annually at the park.
The Island 22 boat launch is one of the largest in the Lower Mainland. It can accommodate over a dozen simultaneous launchings, and can park approximately 100 trucks and trailers. This launch is located on the Fraser River, 15 minutes from the mouth of the Harrison River.
The Bike Skills Park was designed to appeal to riders of all levels, from beginner to expert. It features five different riding zones and one perimeter trail. Safety is an important concern. Homemade jumps will be removed and riders must wear helmets.
Amenities include boat launch, large parking area for trucks and trailers, bike skills park, off-leash dog area, equestrian facilities and a gatehouse that is staffed during the summer months.
