INTERESTED IN BECOMING A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER FOR CHILLIWACK RIVER VALLEY?  Recruiting for the Chilliwack River Valley (CRV) Volunteer Fire Department is done each September.  This ensures that successful applicants will be on the same track for training purposes.  Applications are to be submitted online through the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) Website (www.fvrd.ca) or they can be mailed into the FVRD office at 1-45950 Cheam Ave, Chilliwack, BC  V2P 1N6.  Any applications received through the year will be filed and held until the September recruiting session.

Once the recruiting session starts, applications received by the FVRD will be forwarded to the CRV Chief who will review them and advise the FVRD if he would like to continue with the application process.  If you are successful through this first step you will be notified and asked to attend an informal information night.  This is an opportunity to come to the hall and make sure this is something you are sincerely interested in doing.  Being a Volunteer Firefighter is rewarding however it requires a firm commitment.

Should your move onto the next step, you will be notified and a formal interview with a panel of Officers from the hall will be scheduled.  Once you pass the interview it will be necessary for you to complete the required paperwork before beginning practises.  This will include a Criminal Record Check, Driver’s Abstract as well as personnel forms.

If you are interested in this challenging and rewarding volunteer service you are encouraged to submit your application through either the FVRD website or by mailing it into the FVRD office.
