Emergency Incident Updates
Below you’ll find key information about incidents where we have held a coordination role. Many incidents occur that do not rise to the level of impending threat to life and property. There are a number of active wildfires across the landscape in the FVRD electoral areas. Wildfires are a natural part of the environment and in most cases do not pose threat to people or property. When they do create risk to communities and properties, FVRD is notified by the BC Wildfire Service in partnership with the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.
Area B – Coquihalla Lakes Area - Mine Creek Wildfire
- Due to favorable wildfire fighting conditions, there are no evacuation alerts or orders in place. This fire continues to smoulder within its boundary and may continue to smoke and smolder within its perimeter during high winds and hot, dry days. The State of Local Emergency (SOLE) declared on September 4, 2025 is now cancelled.
- Risk to properties in this area has been reduced due to high humidity, favorable weather conditions, and the efforts of wildland firefighters.
- Risks in wildfire areas remain, even when the fire itself is not a threat. Residents should be aware risks related to landslides and debris flows due to heavy rains as fall nears in and be prepared for travel conditions and future heavy rain travel advisories from the DriveBC.
