We are working hard to make facilities and programs as safe as possible in this time of uncertainty. It is important that we all continue to follow the rules set by health authorities to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

  1. Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes. Masks are required for all patrons 5 years and older in all public indoor spaces including common areas when not engaged in physical activity. A face shield is not a substitute for a mask as it has an opening below the mouth.

    There are exemptions for:

    • People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive or mental impairments who cannot wear one
    • People who cannot remove a mask on their own
    • Children under the age of 5
    • People who need to remove their masks to communicate due to another person's hearing impairment
  2. Is proof of vaccination required?

    • Yes. Each individual over the age of 12 is required to show their BC Vaccine Card for each visit to the pool, arena, weight room, cardio room, or group fitness classes.
    • The QR code is required to be scanned by our front desk staff
    • There are exceptions for swimming lessons and youth programs
    • Check out the Proof of Vaccination Requirements Table for a complete list of activities and their requirements
  3. How can I help keep activities safe?

    • Personal protective measures can be implemented to increase your comfort and safety. Please refer to all current recommendations from health authorities regarding the steps you can take to increase your safety.
    • Personal hygiene measures such as increased handwashing and/or sanitizing are encouraged.
    • If you are sick, stay at home. If you appear to be sick, you will not be allowed entry. This will be strictly enforced, with no exceptions.
    • Wearing a mask is recommended when physical distancing cannot be maintained
    • Wearing a mask while exercising is encouraged
  4. Do I still need to register for activities?

Pre-registration is required for swimming lessons, group fitness classes, and individual fitness (weight room and cardio room). You can register by calling 604-869-2304.

  5. How can I book activities?

    • Individual fitness and group fitness classes can be pre-booked by calling our front desk at 604-869-2304
    • Activities may be booked up to 24 hours in advance
  6. When can I book activities?

    • Individual fitness and group fitness classes timeslots are released at 8:30 am each day for the next day
    • We encourage participants to book their next time slot as they enter or leave the facility
    • Bookings are first come, first served
  7. Why are timeslots being implemented again?

    • To reduce congestion and foot traffic, we are implementing time slots to ensure the safety of staff and patrons. This also allows participants to stagger their entrances/exits to abide by physical distancing measures.
    • Due to the physical distancing requirement between individuals in gyms (2m), our capacity for the weight room is 10 people and our cardio room is 4 people
    • Machines that do not meet this requirement (e.g. side by side treadmills) have been taped off to allow for physical distancing
  8. Why is there a cleaning break in between sessions?

    • To ensure the safety of staff and the public, both the weight room and cardio room are cleaned and disinfected before and after each session
    • This allows proper ventilation of the room before and after bookings, which is a requirement of the current Provincial Health Order
  9. Why do I need to pre-book a group fitness activity?

    • We have a capacity-based limitation based on 7m2 of floor space for both individual and group fitness classes
    • Group fitness classes have a capacity of 10 participants per class
    • Classes can be booked 24 hours in advance by calling our front desk at 604-869-2304
  10. Are the hot tub, sauna, and steam room open?

Yes, these areas are open with limited capacity available and to ensure the safety of our patrons. The current capacity limits are:

    • Hot tub: 5 people
    • Sauna: 4 people
    • Steam Room: 5 people
  11. Are the changerooms and showers open?

Yes, changerooms and showers are open at their regular capacity.

  12. Are lockers available?

Yes, lockers are open at their regular capacity. Please note that we are not responsible for the safekeeping of items. We are also not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  13. Can I sit and watch my child/family swim?

Yes, the pool deck viewing area is open but space is limited due to capacity requirements and proof of vaccination is required.

  14. What is the capacity? Where did you come up with the numbers?

We are following the guidelines of the Provincial Health Order and have set our capacity limits based on those requirements.

  15. Do I still need to disinfect equipment?

Yes, please disinfect your equipment before and after use.
