Sports Hall of Fame

Recognizing Excellence

A community works best when everyone pulls together. Since 1992, the Recreation Services has been formally awarding outstanding individuals in the region with a place in our very own Sports Hall of Fame.

The Sports Hall of Fame recognizes citizens from Hope and the surrounding area who have made a significant contribution in either athletic excellence or service to recreation in the community. From annual public nominations, the commission reviews the achievements of candidates and honours up to four people each year (two per category). Inductees are honoured with a plaque at a luncheon.

Know a great candidate? Nominate!

Nomination forms are accepted each year from April 1 to April 30. The commission meets in June to review the candidates and make its selections. A luncheon is announced at which the new recipients are awarded a plaque to thank them for their exceptional service.

Nominees can be current residents of Hope and the surrounding area, past residents, or nominated posthumously. Current members of the Fraser Valley Regional District Board, the District of Hope Council, and employees of these government agencies are not eligible.
