Public Hearing - Consolidated Zoning
The purpose of proposed Bylaw No. 1638, 2021 is to standardize and simplify zoning regulations across the Regional District, without significantly altering the regulations applicable to any particular parcel of land or type of zone. All parcels of land in the Regional District that are already subject to Regional District zoning regulations are subject to the bylaw.
Existing inconsistencies between the Official Community Plans and the Zoning Bylaws will remain unchanged. To address these inconsistencies, the Omnibus OCP Amendment Bylaw No. 1668, 2022, proposes to amend nine (9) FVRD OCP Bylaws by inserting a general policy statement. It is a cautionary measure to acknowledge such inconsistencies and thereby meeting the intent of Section 478 of the Local Government Act.
