Mayors support new public health orders in the eastern Fraser Valley

September 29, 2021

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in the Fraser Valley and new public health orders are introduced, Mayors of Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, Harrison Hot Springs, Kent and Mission, and the Chair of the Board of the Fraser Valley Regional District want to remind everyone of the importance of getting vaccinated.

On September 28, BC Public Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix announced increased public health orders by Fraser Health for Abbotsford, Agassiz, Chilliwack, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope and Mission in order to decrease the transmission of COVID-19. Orders are effective immediately in order to help reduce the transmission of the virus. Fraser Health has seen the lowest immunization rates in these communities and in turn, the highest case rates which has led to impacts on our schools, workplaces and hospitals in the Fraser East region. Now is the time for all of us to help protect our communities by getting vaccinated.

If you haven’t got vaccinated yet or if it’s been more than 28 days since your first dose, visit a vaccination clinic today and get protected from COVID-19. Daily clinics include:

  • Abbotsford: Abbotsford Ag Rec (32470 Haida Drive, Building 1) from 8:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
