Recreational Boating Restrictions

December 1, 2021

In light of continued rainfall and flooding in southern BC, Transport Canada has expanded the scope of the recreational boating restrictions to include the Chilliwack and Coquihalla Rivers. Specifically:

  1. Chilliwack River and the waters over the floodplains from Chilliwack Lake to, and including, Vedder River, and also including Slesse Creek
  2. Coquihalla River and the waters over the floodplains along the Coquihalla Highway and Crowsnest Highway from Shylock Road to where the Coquihalla River meets the Fraser River

Transport Canada has added an exception for crews performing infrastructure repairs on behalf of a local authority. Those acting on behalf of Indigenous groups continue to be exempt from the Order.
