Take the Survey on Future Growth in the Fraser Valley

September 1, 2021

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) has launched a survey on the future of our growing region and we want to hear from you!

The comprehensive survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and is open to anyone who lives, visits, or does business in the Fraser Valley.

Did you know that by 2050, the Fraser Valley’s population is expected to grow by about 60 percent? That’s approximately 200,000 more people living in the region. Now is your chance to weigh in on what’s important to you and provide input into the plan that will be used to help shape growth in the region.

Results from the survey will help inform the Fraser Valley Future 2050 Regional Growth Strategy (RGS), a high-level policy plan to help guide long-term growth in the region. The updated draft plan outlines the vision and priorities of the region, covering a range of interconnected topics, with the goal of creating healthy and sustainable communities, from a regional perspective.

Growth is a challenge in the Fraser Valley with 96% of this growth occurring in the FVRD’s six member municipalities (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Harrison Hot Springs, Hope, and Kent). Combined with the growth expected in Metro Vancouver, in the next 30 years, an additional one million people will call the Lower Mainland home.

Take the survey by September 30 and share your thoughts on regional issues related to transit, housing, recreation, economic development, and the environment.
