Winter Storm Warning - Be Prepared

Environment Canada warns that an approaching Pacific system is expected to give a significant amount of snow across higher elevation passes. Snow, at times heavy, will impact travel conditions through to Thursday.

The Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt will receive 35 to 60 cm of snow. The heaviest snowfall is expected today.

Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass will receive 30 to 55 cm of snow. The heaviest snowfall is expected on Thursday.

In addition, there is a risk of freezing rain today from Hope to the Coquihalla Summit, as well as Highway 3 - Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass.

Follow local route forecasts for more details and please be prepared for adverse weather conditions.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
