Air Quality Advisory Cancelled

October 21, 2022

The fine particulate matter Air Quality Advisory for Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley that was in effect since October 13 has been canceled. Air quality has improved due to a change in weather that has cleared the smoke. Moderate northwesterly winds have displaced the smoke with clean marine air. The clearing began Thursday in parts of the region and fine particulate levels are now very low.

Metro Vancouver works in cooperation with Environment and Climate Change Canada, Fraser Valley Regional District, and BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy to look after air quality.

Information about real-time air quality readings for Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley communities and potential health impacts can be found at www.airmap.ca and www.env.gov.bc.ca/epd/bcairquality/readings/find-stations-map.html.
