Rogers Outage Affects Access to 911 Service

Rogers and Fido customers across Canada impacted by the telecommunications outage will not able to use their phones for 911 calls. Rogers is advising that in an emergency situation customers find alternate means of contacting 911, which includes:

  • using a landline or wireless device serviced by an alternate carrier
  • going to a neighbour’s house
  • using phones at nearby businesses or community centres
  • heading to the closest fire department for assistance
