Wind Warning for Fraser Canyon

A wind warning is in effect for the Fraser Canyon - south including Lytton.

When: Early this morning to afternoon.

Where: Lytton, Kamloops, Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Logan Lake, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops, Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna.

Southwest winds of 60 km/h with gusts to 90 resulting in strong crosswinds and potential wind-related damage.

The strong winds will ease late afternoon or early evening as the front passes.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches. Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
