FVRD Is Testing Digital Building Permit Applications

November 12, 2025

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is pleased to announce the first steps towards a fully digital building permit process. Currently, the FVRD is hosting a soft launch of the new online building permit application system through the myFVRD portal. The intent of the soft launch is to introduce the new process and to obtain user’s feedback in order to ensure a user’s experience is effective and efficient with the new building permit process.

The fully digital permitting process will allow users to submit applications online through an account on myFVRD. Users will be able to track review progress, submit revisions, and receive approved permits all online for applications submitted after October 17, 2025. This service update will affect property owners, builders, designers, and anyone else applying for a building permit within FVRD Electoral areas, Village of Harrison Hot Springs, or the Cultus Lake Park Board area.

The soft launch period is anticipated to wrap up in the next several weeks. Feedback during this time is encouraged and can be sent to building@fvrd.ca.

Information about building permits and access to the online building permit system can be found on the FVRD website at fvrd.ca/building
