BELL ACRES RESERVOIR WORK
The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is planning to reduce the Bell Acres reservoir level in Electoral Area E over the next several days.
Through a field inspection, FVRD staff noticed irregularities at the reservoir site and are taking every reasonable step to mitigate any potential risks. Although draining reservoir levels is a common engineering practice, residents in the area may notice a slight drop in water pressure in their homes. The FVRD’s Chilliwack River Fire Department is ensuring there are operational plans in place for fire protection during this work period. Additionally, the FVRD is looking to have certified engineering and geotechnical inspections completed as soon as reasonably practicable at the reservoir site.
For residents living in the Bell Acres reservoir area, you may notice some cloudiness in your water which does not affect the water quality. If you do have concerns with your potable water, please contact the FVRD by calling 604-702-5000 or by email at info@fvrd.ca.
