The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is aware of the concern caused by multiple structure fires in the community of Boston Bar during the early hours of Tuesday, September 22, 2026, and a brush fire reported today.

The Boston Bar/North Bend Fire Chief Pruim requested a Fire Advisor from the Office of the Fire Commissioner to conduct a formal fire investigation. The incident scenes remain under active and confidential investigation at this time.

Emergency responders remain actively engaged, and fire crews continue to respond as needed, assess affected locations, and support public safety. Residents in the area are asked to avoid active emergency scenes, follow directions from first responders, and keep roads and access points clear for emergency vehicles.

At this time, the FVRD encourages residents to rely on information shared through official channels. We understand that repeated incidents can be unsettling, particularly for residents directly affected, and after the Brunswick Complex Wildfire this summer. FVRD’s priority remains the safety and well-being of residents, responders, and everyone in the community.

Residents can help by reporting smoke or fire immediately by calling 9-1-1. Preparedness at home may include ensuring smoke alarms are working, keeping combustible materials away from homes and outbuildings, and using heating or electrical equipment safely. If smoke from the contained railroad ties is a concern, please call HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 for non-emergency health advice related to smoke exposure.
