A generous one-time donation of $10,000 from Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), and materials valued at $3300 from Southern Irrigation – Chilliwack Culture Committee has been received by the Boston Bar/North Bend Fire Department. The combined support will help enhance the department’s capacity to respond safely and effectively to emergencies in community.

The $10,000 will be used towards the purchase of the department’s fire apparatus (protective equipment, vehicle upgrades). The $3300 in donated materials will be used to build a gear drying rack. This practical addition will help firefighters properly dry and care for their turnout gear following emergency responses and training exercises.  By ensuring gear is maintained in good condition and ready for use, the rack plays an important role in keeping firefighters outfitted, prepared, and ready to respond to the next call.

The Boston Bar/North Bend Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency response support for FVRD Electoral Area A.
