FVRD Engages in Recovery Management Services

February 27, 2026

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is pleased to announce it has engaged the recovery management services of Bremer Consulting to assist with the extensive community disaster recovery efforts required as a result of the December 2025 Atmospheric River incidents.

In addition to working closely with FVRD staff to ensure the requirements from the Emergency and Disaster Management Act (EDMA) for disaster recovery are completed, one of the main provisions for the Recovery Manager from Bremer Consulting is the development of a comprehensive Recovery Plan.

For local governments, the recovery phase from an emergency can be a longer process and includes a variety of technical and specialized tasks. Since the Atomospheric River incidents in December 2025, the FVRD started preparing its Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) application. FVRD residents who were affected by overland flooding that occurred from December 10-19, 2025, are welcome to start and submit their DFA applications. The deadline for submission is April 13, 2026. For FVRD residents who were affected by the overland flooding and who require assistance with their provincial DFA applications, they are invited to phone 778-704-0400 or email disaster.recovery@fvrd.ca to ask FVRD staff questions.
