FVRD EOC UPDATE – JANUARY 16, 2026
Thank you to all Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) residents who took the time to complete an incident submissions on the FVRD Emergency Status Map, especially during a trying and difficult time. The significant amount of insight received from residents helped the FVRD to showcase the damage experienced across the region during the Atmospheric River incidents.
Earlier in the week, the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness released information on financial assistance availability for flood-affected people and communities within eligible communities. The Fraser Valley Regional District has been included as an eligible community. The provincial release includes information on applying for Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) and what DFA can cover.
The FVRD’s civic responsibility does not include culverts. To learn more about culvert maintenance and culvert responsibility please visit https://www.fvrd.ca/EN/main/services/roads-and-culverts.html
Fraser Health has information available to homeowners impacted by flood on their website Flood planning - Fraser Health. Their Fraser Health Drinking Water Program may have capacity to provide microbiological testing for homeowners with well water supplies impacted by flooding. FVRD residents who may need this program should contact 604-870-7903 or hpland@fraserhealth.ca for more information. Additional helpful information for well owners and people using on-site sewage systems is available here:
