FVRD REMINDS RESIDENTS OF DFA APPLICATION DEADLINE

The Fraser Valley Regional (FVRD) is reminding residents of the upcoming Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) application deadline of April 13, 2026.

Residents affected by overland flooding that occurred from December 10 – 19, 2025, can submit a DFA application. Applications apply for individuals in the electoral areas of the Fraser Valley Regional District, City of Abbotsford, City of Chilliwack, District of Hope, Chawathil First Nation, Leqʼá:mel First Nation, Matsqui First Nation, Semá:th First Nation, and Sts’ailes First Nation who were affected by overland flooding.

DFA is a provincial program available to homeowners, residential tenants, charitable/non-profit organizations, landlords or small business owners, and farm owners that were unable to obtain insurance to cover disaster-related losses. DFA is also available for individuals impacted by the overland flooding that occurred.

For FVRD residents who were affected by the overland flooding and who require assistance with the DFA application, they are invited to phone 778-704-0400 or email disaster.recovery@fvrd.ca for FVRD staff assistance.
