NEW ONLINE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION SYSTEM IS LIVE
January 13, 2026
The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) newest tool, the online building permit application system is now available through the myFVRD portal.
This marks a significant step towards a fully digital permitting process at the FVRD. It will allow applicants to submit applications online through an account on myFVRD. Users will be able to track review progress, submit revisions, and receive approved permits all online. This change will affect property owners, builders, designers, and anyone applying for a building permit within any of our Electoral Areas, Harrison Hot Springs, or Cultus Lake Park Board area. Paper applications will continue to be accepted until February 28, 2026, during the transition to the new digital application process.
“Time is a precious commodity for everyone,” said Patricia Ross, FVRD Board Chair. “Moving to an online system that offers numerous benefits and efficiencies for building permit applicants is essential,” she said.
Benefits:
- Convenient application submission from any location, at any time
- Real-time updates and status tracking
- Fewer delays in submitting and reviewing revised plans
- A more sustainable process that reduces paper use and environmental footprint while also saving printing costs
- Ability to pay by credit card without extra fees
- An online account will provide full access to an application’s history
