What is looked at during the Assessment?

• Flooding and runoff
• Erosion
• Debris flows
• Landslides and slope hazards
• Risks to homes, roads, and infrastructure

What locations are considered during the Assessment?

• Areas affected by wildfire.
• A focus on steep slopes, drainage paths, creeks, and areas below burned terrain.
• Some locations may need more detailed follow-up studies, led by the Province of British Columbia.

What to do while assessments are underway?

• Know if your home is below a burned slope, creek or ravine.
• Keep drainage around your property clear where safe to do so.
• Know more than one way out of your neighbourhood.
• Watch weather and local emergency information.
• Review your household emergency plan and supplies.
• Be familiar with the Master Evacuation Guide and Electoral Area A Evacuation Guide. Use the Hazard Report to be informed of what to look for.
