EVACUATION ORDER DOWNGRADE/RESCIND – ELECTORAL AREA E, WILSON ROAD AREA
The Fraser Valley Regional District has issued an Evacuation ORDER DOWNGRADE/RESCIND for the area of Electoral Area E – Wilson Road because of current lower river levels and lower temperatures. Although this is promising progress the River Forecast Centre has maintained a Flood Warning for Chilliwack River, there are high flows continuing to come out of Chilliwack Lake, and additional mild to moderate rain levels are expected to continue on Thursday. Therefore, residents must be prepared to leave if the Evacuation ALERT is upgraded to an Evacuation ORDER. People must be ready to leave the Evacuation ORDER area immediately.

The FVRD Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) continues to operate, with staff responding and working with partner agencies to address a variety of issues throughout the region. Residents are reminded to stay away from high-risk areas, such as landslides, dikes, and flooded areas. Not only are the dangers in these areas extremely high, but when residents enter these areas, it puts everyone at risk, including our first responders.
The FVRD would like to remind residents to stay safe and take precautions during this time. Please stay away from swift-running rivers and unstable banks. Due to the soil saturation, expect possible erosion and debris slides.
