SOLE DECLARED FOR ELECTORAL AREA E – CHILLIWACK RIVER VALLEY

The ongoing atmospheric river is increasing risks associated with flooding, landslides, and posing an existing or imminent threat to people and property within the area known as Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) Electoral Area E. On March 19, 2026, the FVRD declared a State of Local Emergency (SOLE) for FVRD Electoral Area E to support prompt coordination of action or special regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety or well-being of persons or the safety of property or objects or sites of heritage value.

The FVRD Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) is operational. To contact the EOC Public Information Line, dial 778-704-0400.

The FVRD would like to remind residents to stay safe and take precautions during this time. Please stay away from swift-running rivers and unstable banks. Due to the soil saturation, expect possible erosion and debris slides.
