CARE Centre

The Community Animal Response & Education (CARE) Centre temporarily houses lost, stray and impounded dogs. Our dedicated staff provide quality medical care, nutrition, socialization and exercise to the dogs in our care. Some of these dogs are waiting to be claimed by their owners, while others are being evaluated to determine their adoption needs.

Pet Adoption

The CARE Centre also offers a pet adoption service. Pet ownership is a serious commitment. Each dog that needs to be re-homed is carefully evaluated with the goal of finding the perfect match for the dog and owner alike.

Check out the dogs available for adoption and visit our Facebook page for updates and additional information.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you will need to:

  • schedule a visit by calling 1-844-495-2273 or email us
  • complete a detailed Adoption Application form
  • agree to a home visit before and after the adoption

A $300 adoption fee applies which covers the cost of housing, food, and medical care. The fee also includes an identifying tattoo, spaying or neutering, microchip, and DHPP vaccination.

Take a few minutes to watch this short video to learn more about responsible pet ownership and care.

Have you always wanted to own a dog, but aren't quite ready? We are always looking for dog walkers and people willing to socialize and play with our dogs. You may also want to consider fostering one of our dogs for a short period of time.

For more information, please call 1-844-495-CARE or email us.

Donations of food, towels, blankets, Kuranda beds, crates and toys are always welcome. Charitable receipts are available for cash donations over $20 and may be available for significant donations of supplies. Cash donations should be made payable to the Fraser Valley Regional District and sent to:
