Electoral Area B Curbside Collection
Valley Waste and Recycling Inc provides Curbside Collection to all Electoral Area B residential properties (excluding Sunshine Valley) and to individual First Nations in this area on a contract basis.
Collection Day: Mondays
Garbage and Recycling are collected every other week on an alternating basis. Organics is collected Weekly.

Special Notice: If you have not yet received a set of Collection Carts and wish to, please fill out an application form and submit it to the Engineering Department. Applications received prior to March 1st, 2026, are eligible for a free set of carts. Applications received past this deadline will be charged the full cost. Click on this PDF link:
Area B Curbside Cart Replacement Application
General Rules
- Curbside Waste will only be collected in FVRD-Issue Collection Carts. Waste must be sorted according to the appropriately labelled collection cart. Carts are color-coded Black lid for Garbage, Blue lid for Recycling, Green lid for Organics.
- Carts must be set out by 7:00 am on collection dates in full view of and within 2 meters of the shoulder, curb or street to ensure collection.
- Lids of collection carts must be fully closed and latched when set out at the curb.
Garbage
- Garbage will be collected every two weeks alternating with Recycling.
- Please place accepted garbage materials in the collection cart with the black lid, labelled garbage.

Recycling
- Recycling placed in bags will not be accepted. Please place all recycling loosely in the Cart.
- Bulky cardboard boxes must be broken down, flattened and placed in the Recycling Cart.
