Outdoor Recreation Study
With the Lower Mainland's population expected to grow to more than four million by 2051, we anticipate there will be increased demand for outdoor recreation opportunities in our region.
In 2018 we received federal grant funding to create an outdoor recreation study that will guide the growth and expansion of outdoor recreation in our region.
The first phase of the study, which involves quantifying the value outdoor recreation brings to our region, is well underway. Data has been collected from over 150 different locations and a final report should be ready by early 2020.
The second phase involves collecting information. We heard your comments and suggestions at our open houses in January 2020 and received your feedback through our online survey.
Your input will be used to draft a Management Plan which will be shared for feedback on this web page.
